Well, I have the name of the new medication the Doc has put me on. As I mentioned in the last post, it is generally used for Bipolar but Dr. Kina feels it may do me some good. The name of it is Risperdal (Risperidone). Among some of the side effects, weight gain, sexual side effects (big surprise here), dizziness, severe sleepiness, and nausea. Basically the same old-same old when it comes to side effects for all medications prescribed for Bipolar/Anxiety/Depression. After taking this medication for 6 days I have not noticed any real bad side effects or benefits of the drug. Anxiety is still present, and I have not noticed being too overly tired or dizzy etc. That was until today. I was doing some cleaning around the house and as I was cleaning something near the floor, when I stood up, I almost threw up and fell over. These are both common side effects and kept me feeling pretty sick to my stomach for an hour or so. Not being one to put up with or enjoy "the spins" I will give this medication another week and hope the dizziness thing goes away. If not, I will mention it to Dr. Kina and have him ween me off of it. I avoid carnival rides, swing sets and anything else that makes my equilibrium teeter to one side or the other, I am sure as heck not going to take a medication that makes me feel like that. Because I know how I am. Once I get it in my head that I am dizzy and nauseous, I will NOT stop thinking about it until I get sick.
On a happier note, Loyda and I got our business license for our up and coming cleaning business. I am really looking forward to it as it will allow me to work without having to be surrounded by 500 people. My plan is to drop down to part time at Costco when the business is going good enough which will eliminate my being there after the store is open and the 500 members are scrambling to throw what they need into their overgrown shopping cart. After my Costco shift, I will meet up with Loyda wherever she is cleaning. We are hoping to get mostly business from realtors cleaning vacant apartments or rental houses but we will not turn down any occupied, weekly cleaning maid-like services.
If any of you have any business experience and would like to chime in and tell me what you learned about being self employed, please do. We are rookies at this and can take all the help we can get. I am really excited about it and feel and think this can be my way out of short-term disability and not working.
Any Hoo, I've gotta get into bed. ya'll have a great weekend!
Comments on our handmade (by me of course) business card? =)
